Abstract: Abstract: Nowadays, as the scientific development concept is gradually filtering into people’s minds, how to calculate and disclose the environmental information accurately has become a serious problem for the thermal power enterprises. However, the information of pollution and environmental governance as well as the use of environmental resources and compensation can't be handled by traditional accounting. In view of this, this paper firstly probes the theoretical foundation for environmental accounting and then builds an accounting system of environmental accounting according to the characteristics of thermal power industry so that environmental accounting can be applied and promoted in thermal power enterprises.
