Abstract: Abstract: In practice, there are three fundamental types of ERP implementation patterns, namely, the implementation of enterprise by itself, the cooperation between enterprise and ERP software supplier, as well as the enterprises, ERP software suppliers and third-party consulting firms working together. At the latter two, the relationship between enterprise and ERP software supplier, enterprises and third-party consulting firms can be regarded as a "principal -agent" relationship. Based on the basic analytical framework model of Principal-agent theory, this paper developed the principal-agent model of three primary patterns in ERP implementation, by solving the models; it proved that the implementation of the tripartite cooperation is optimal mode. The optimal contractual arrangements are solved from the perspective of enterprise, which is instructive to ERP practice.
