Abstract: Abstract: The objective of this paper is to explore the ecologization of industrial parks based on industrial metabolism which focuses on the metabolic mechanism of industrial system and widely used in researching the transition of industrial parks. The paper analyzes the metabolic effect of the industrial parks and summarizes the characteristics of industrial metabolism, taking the Yantai Development Zone as the example. The authors believe that the transition toward ecologization of industrial parks should progress within individual enterprises, among different enterprises and within the industrial parks simultaneously. In a particular enterprise, emphasis should be placed on continuous clean production and cost cutting from the origin; among different enterprises, constructing ecological industrial chain based on raw material& technology integration and product integration as well as industrial aggregation takes top priority; while within the industrial park, the first line work should be focused on the linking function of industrial park in economic cycle and extending the space for material and energy cycle by making full use of material requirements information to radiate across the whole industrial park.
