Abstract: Abstract: The paper uses independent samples t-test to analyze empirically the impacts of ISO9000 certification on employees’ attitudes toward statistical techniques and their actual applying behavior based on Chinese small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). The results show that (1) the employees in Chinese SMEs hold comparative positive attitudes toward statistical techniques, but the positive attitudes don’t turn into positive behavior of applying proper statistical techniques; (2) introduction of ISO9000 standard in SMEs don’t significantly change the attitudes of employees to statistical techniques; (3) a significant difference exists in employees’ applying advanced statistical techniques between certified SMEs and non-certified ones, however, difference is not significant in employees’ applying basic statistical techniques between with and without ISO9000 SMEs.
