In recent years, the indoor air pollution produced by the ventilating system of the central air- conditioning draws many people’s attention. The central air-conditioning pipe sampling inspection robotic system designed in this paper can effectively accomplish dust quantitative sampling and detection in the pipe. The total robotic system consists of three parts: caterpillar robot, PC system and control box. Double caterpil- lar coordinated control system can guarantee that the robot moves flexibly and steady in pipe. Moreover, PID control algorithm applied in the system realizes the function of traveling straight accurately. Through moni- toring system, real-time video signal captured by two cameras will be chosen, transmitted and displayed in the human-machine interface of PC system.
