Abstract: Introduced the principles of Optical Duobinary Return to Zero DRZ and Modified Duobinary Return to Zero MDRZ code pattern generated, produces these signals by optical communication simulation software, a 40Gb/s single-channel optical fiber transmission system is designed to simulate these code pat- terns, to study and compare with their nonlinear tolerance and transmission distance, study result shows that the MD-RZ in the capability of nonlinear torlance is better than DRZ in the condition of higher input fiber optical power.
