Abstract: In open-loop interferometric gyroscope the deviation from ideal parameters of devices leads to polarization error and affects gyroscope’s precision. In this paper, the Jones matrix models of devices in the gyroscope are given, and the methods of coherence matrix of broadband source and transferring matrix are successfully applied to compute the gyroscope output theoretically. The polarization errors originating from the fluctuation of source power and polarization degree, fluctuation of coupling ratio and alignment errors are also obtained. According to gyroscope’s precision command of different rate, we get the corresponding characteristic parameters of devices, which would be a useful reference for improving gyroscope’s precision.
