Abstract: As drive-by-wire systems will be used in the safety-critical automotive applications, the safety issue will play an importance role for the success of this kind of systems. Fault injection is often employed to validate the system reliability/safety. In this study, we propose a fault injection platform compliant with the EN50159 for FlexRay drive-by-wire systems. The fault library and its generator based on EN50159 are developed to enhance the efficiency and completeness of the fault injection process. We demonstrate the proposed fault injection platform by a simplified FlexRay steer-by-wire system to show the feasibility of the fault injection platform and give a preliminary result of the failure analysis.
