Abstract: Scientific inquiry is an important subject in science education. Most of science education teaching materials were compiled in “one-way” and “preach” approach. This could not motivate the learners’ learning intention. Augmented Reality supports users to manipulate virtual objects in real environments, and thus can be used for science education with far less costs than doing real exercises. Therefore, learners can then be immersed in the simulated environment. In this study, we propose an Augmented Reality Based Ecology E-learning Platform and use the Arduino Microcontroller to achieve the interactive purpose between learner and virtual objects. The proposed approach has the advantage of more fun and immersion for science education.
