Abstract: The local frequency shift on the satellite transceiver caused by temperature change may bring large error to the Doppler shift estimation. This paper presents a Doppler estimation and compensation method based on the relation curve between temperature and Doppler estimation shift of TXCO. According to the er- ror accuracy of system requirements, this method first fits the above curve to a fifth order polynomial and then compute the controlling parameter input to VXCO in order to correct the Doppler estimation’s deviations. Theoretic and test results show that when the temperature ranges from -45 centigrade to 60 centigrade, the proposed technique can significantly improve the Doppler frequency shift error.
