Abstract: This article introduces the mechanism of the Linux frame buffer and analyzes the structure of Linux frame buffer device driver. The interface method of Linux frame buffer device driver is the method of the file layer and the driver layer, which is used to provide the file operations for the upper layer and provide the hardware operations for the under layer, and then has an introduction of several important structures involved in the frame buffer driver. Based on Linux 2.6.30 kernel, according to the specific hardware parameters of 3.5 inch TFT LCD of LTV350QV-F04 and the characteristics of the peripheral interfaces and the registers of the S3C2440A’s the LCD controller, the initialization of LCD is realized and the low-level driver functions are designed, ultimately the LCD driver is completed.
