Abstract: China's unique double arch bridges are thought much of at home and abroad. Many of them have emerged degrees of diseases after decades of use; as a result there is a direct threat to safe service of bridges. Design documents of some bridges are already lost, and no way knows specific structure siz- es and design standards at the time, so it is inconvenient to estimate their deformation condition and bearing capacity. A strengthen method for a double arch bridge in name of TULITU is bolt-shotcrete floors to link arch ribs together and become double curved arches into closed box arches. Calculating internal forces of the double arch bridge by finite element method in plane bar system of ANSYS soft- ware and simulating in the main arch ring of the three-dimensional entity of concrete nonlinearity before and after the reinforcement, and according to the data obtained designing reinforcement method and evaluating the reinforcement effect in each part of the bridge. The simulation of the bridge’s diseases is more accurate. Constitutive equation about reinforced concrete is reasonably chosen. Nonlinear equation solution method and iteration convergence criteria are suitably elected. The simulation has accurately re- flected that concrete cracks of material nonlinearity have effect on the structure according to actual situ- ations.
