Abstract: The construction of data structure (scheme) plays a key role for entity modeling and data processing in CAD/CAM system. It’s another requirement for many different entities (especially the parties being created by interactive system) are associative memory, which involves mapping and trans- formation in the identical data structure space. This paper proposes a scheme which builds up the asso- ciative memory and mapping of many nonadjacent entities in the identical data structure by using the theory of sets and redefining a entity structure in available space. Owing to the associative memory for nonadjacent entities, it is easy for any entity in the scheme to be displayed and modified or complex en- tities of two and over to be operated logically so as to create a more complex new entity. The scheme proposed in the paper removes many addresses occupied by useless nodes when data structures are ac- cessed, decreases data transmission time, and provides a reliable technique for CAD developers to make solid model1ing. That is an important technique and method in any modeling system.
