Abstract: Network Coding and Priority Queuing(PQ) are both to optimize the network’s transmitting ability and to schedule the data traffic with the special transmitting node’s intelligent signal processing. Based on the introduction of network’s Quality-of-Service (QoS) and queuing disciplines, have a system analysis of the Network Coding and queuing discipline in order to know how they work. The Network Coding and Priority Queuing can both schedule the traffic data then to have Quality-of-Service in the network’s transmitting. However the QoS is different with the different strategy. On basis of all of these, make a research on the business’s delay and the special data link and the utilization of the network re- sources with the impact of First-In-First-Out(FIFO) Queuing, Priority Queuing and Network Coding combined with Priority Queuing respectively. Then verify them with the modeling and simulation on OPNET software.
