Abstract: With the accelerated urbanization and motorization, the rapid growing of the demands for ur- ban public transport roads, the urban traffic congestion has become a very serious problem and is an important factor of restricting urban economic development. In this paper, urban public transport system is comprehensively evaluated by matter element analysis theory and fuzzy evaluation. Using the multi- variate data of extension theory and the quantification decision of matter element analysis method, the object evaluation of multi-parameter factor in urban public transport system evaluation is attributed to the single-object decision. In this paper, the matter element analysis and fuzzy evaluation method are combined comprehensively to built the fuzzy - matter element evaluation model. So we can evaluate the status of urban public transport system more comprehensively and scientifically. Finally, the paper ana- lyzes the related data, provides the theoretical basis for the public transportation system to make it more optimized and improved.
