Abstract: The development of computer and communication technologies has led to the emergence of mul- timedia-based systems that handle a variety of media (from text to audio-visual data) and their integration. This paper investigates the fundamentals of MHEG presentation, which often requires efficient and effective audio-visual data transmission based on DAVIC. The paper also provides an insight into DAVIC specifica- tions, including relevant issues such as DSM-CC and CORBA．
