Abstract: The high resolution MUSIC algorithm for direction of arrival (DOA) estimation using a single vec- tor hydrophone is presented. Based on array signal processing theory, the pressure and particle velocity are processed jointly to construct a DOA estimation algorithm. The simulations show that the single vector hy- drophone MUSIC algorithm improves the target resolution with high-resolution directivity and lower side- lobe level compared with the Capon algorithm. The MUSIC algorithm can implement high resolution DOA estimation at high SNR.
