Abstract: |
Low-Rate Denial-of-Service attack is a new type of denial-of-service attack. This attack has some signatures, as low traffic and cover-up, which can elude the counter measure deployed on the network to detect DoS attack. Based on the analysis of the effects on average length of packet in the queue which LDoS attack makes, we get the change of this value through simulation on NS2. So we propose the method based the average length of packet in the queue to counter the LDoS attack, and apply this method on Droptail and RED, which are typical queue management algorithm. The simulation results show that this method can effectively counter the LDoS attack.
