Abstract: Service survivability technique is one of the hot directions of the recent information security de-velopment trends. The idea of floating service proposed here is trying to achieve the paradise that service is boat while system is ocean. The crash of partial system has little to do with the service continuity. The mechanism of floating service is based on state transition and the diversity techniques to exploit attack dif-ference among the systems pool which supplies the same service. A skeleton of the floating service is built with the security force based diversity distance and the server agent mechanism.
