Abstract: With the increasing application of digital technology, digital media step gradually into the center of the stage of media kingdom. Under the circumstance of media convergence the boundaries of industries have become increasingly blurred and integrated. Media ecology changed dramatically and media regulation encountered unprecedented challenges. This document defines contemporary trends in media regulation on the basis of the studies on the evolution of media regulation of British and America media to provide some reference to challenge of the digital revolution. United States and British set models in legislation. In the history of media regulation legal norms presents a huge impetus for change. Independent supervision organizations are another feature of the two countries. The media regulation changes in U.S. and British are echo to the convergence trends in communications industry. Worldwide technology-driven and market-driven integration of information communication industries requires a new regulatory body to carry out integrated management.
