Abstract: In this letter, a generalized Doppler frequency estimation method is proposed for real mobile wireless environments where different types of fading channels will be experienced by the radio signal. Based on the difference between the autocorrelation functions, the experienced Doppler spectrum is identified and then the actual maximum Doppler frequency is estimate.
