Abstract: The microstructures relaxation of ferrofluid is researched by the measurements of variation ratio of light which transmitted through the ferrofluid film. The model, describing by three stages involved chains’ being broken up, fragments rotation and diffusion, is established to explain the microstructures relaxation after removing the magnetic field. Comparing with the calculation of model and experimental data, the model with three stages of microstructures’ variation is considered to fit the experiments well.
