Abstract: Perovskite-type LaFeO3 has been synthesized hydrothermally using lanthanum nitrate and ferric nitrate, and characterized by X-ray diffraction and scanning electron microscopy. It showed that the product corresponded to orthorhombic perovskite-type LaFeO3, with a cubic habit over a small particle size of about 10 μm. Furthermore, LaFeO3 prepared by hydrothermal method showed good sensing properties to carbon monoxide.
