Abstract: |
In this paper, the phosphotungstic acid was used as the photocatalyst for the degradation of methyl orange solution under light irradiation. It has been shown that the catalyst dosage, the initial concentration of methyl orange, irradiation intensity and irradiation time under light irradiation were the important factors of decolorizing. The best reaction conditions were: the concentration of methyl orange was 10 mg/ L, the dosage of phosphotungstic acid was 3.0 g/L, irradiation time was 3.5 h. Under these conditions, the color removal could be up to 91.43 %.
