Abstract: Fe3O4 nanoparticles with different morphologies are synthesized by a high temperature decomposition method. Different surfactants, such as sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS), polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP) and cetyltrimethyl ammonium bromide (CTAB), were used as the capping agents in the reaction. The structure and morphology of the products are characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). The corresponding magnetic properties are measured by magnetic property measurement system (MPMS).
