Abstract: In present paper, shape memory effect under free recovery of Ti50Ni25Cu25 ribbon was investigated by tensile tests. The results show that the stress-strain curves of the Ti50Ni25Cu25 ribbon after different annealing treatments consist of three or four different stages depending on annealing temperature. Annealing at 500oC may optimize the shape recovery properties of Ti50Ni25Cu25 ribbon. When the tensile strain is 4.5%, the sample annealed at 500oC shows the maximum recovery strain due to the precipitation strengthening. The sample annealed at 800oC shows the minimum yield stress and recovery strain.
