With Si powders and Mo powders as reactant, MoSi2 compound was synthesized by mechanical alloying. The effect of ball milling charge ratio, ball to powder weight ratio and time on the mechanical alloying synthesis of MoSi2 were studied. XRD and SEM were used to analyze the structure and phase composition. The results show that fine grain of MoSi2 intermetallic compound powder were obtained with milling additives, 20:1 of ball to powder weight ratio, 600r/min of ball milling charge ratio, 48h of ball milling time.
