Abstract: Non-stoichiometry (K0.5Na0.5)1+xNbO3 lead-free piezoelectric ceramics were prepared by ordinary sintering. The effect K and Na non-stoichiometry on the microstructure and electrical properties of KNN ceramics was investigated. A single solid solution with orthorhombic structure was observed for all ceramics by XRD patterns. The electrical properties strongly depend on the amount of K and Na. The KNN ceramics exhibit higher density, larger dielectric constant, lower dielectric loss and better piezoelectric constant with the increase of the amount of K and Na. As a result, this study in present work helps improve the density of KNN-based ceramics.
