Abstract: In order to improve the magnetic properties, copper was add to cold-rolled non-oriented electrical steel. After coiling and hot-band annealing, the grain sizes and precipitates in hot-rolled bands of the non-oriented electrical steel containing Cu were quantitatively studied. The results showed that the grain sizes of hot-rolled bands are 20~25μm. Grains did not grow obviously as increasing of coiling time. But grains grew markedly after hot-band annealing and their average sizes are larger than 120μm. Hence, hot-band annealing is necessary to obtain large hot-rolled band grain after coiling. Some particles precipitated in coiling and hot-band annealing process. They are mainly AlN.
