Abstract: |
NiO/SBA-15 mesoporous composites were synthesized through a two-solvent method. X-ray diffractometer (XRD), transmission electron microscope (TEM), Infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR) and low temperature N2 adsorption-desorption isotherms were used to characterize the structure of the composite materials. Their catalytic properties were determined by oxidation of styrene, using tert-Butyl hydroperoxide as oxidant and acetonitrile as solvent. It is found that NiO nanoparticles are well dispersed within the mesoporous channels and the composites still remain ordered structure, high surface areas and pore volume. Furthermore, the results of styrene oxidation reveal that the main product of styrene oxidation is benzaldehyde and the catalyst posseses high conversion and selectivity.
