Abstract: Fractal geometry is a new subject that study of the graphics and structures which are infinite complex but have self-similarity. In recent 30 years, fractal geometry has a rapid development. Based on the study of iteration formulas of Mandelbrot set, the most famous set in fractal geometry, method of automatically generate fractal graphics has been discussed in this paper, with the help of computer powerful operation ability. And try to use these graphics to design textile patterns. First design Mandelbrot set fractal pattern generation algorithm, then write program in Visual C++ environment, once set different initial values or parameter values for the program, very different fractal patterns can be generated. Four different fractal patterns using different parameters are showed in the paper. The application of fractal patterns has put forward a new approach of textile pattern design.
