Abstract: |
In the present study, a three-dimensional standard K- ε simulation combined the Largrangian method is used to simulate the air flow, pollutant dispersion and concentration field on the urban road. Three typical vehicle conditions are selected to study the effects of stationary and moving vehicle at the steady ambient wind flow conditions. Ambient wind velocity, wind direction for different angles (i.e. α=0 o, 45 o, 90 o), moving vehicle conditions, and vehicle exhaust conditions within the urban road microenvironment are investigated. It is found that the ambient fine particle concentrations would reach the highest concentration at high idling condition. Meanwhile, different wind velocity, wind direction, and emission concentration from vehicle tailpipe will affect the ambient pollutant concentration. The results provide a better understanding of the three-dimensional flow structures, pollutant dispersion and concentrating field for different driving conditions in the urban road microenvironment.
