Abstract: In order to investigate the effects of coagulants on settlement of extremely sliming slurry and theadsorption mechanism of coagulants positive ions on fine particles, the dosage of coagulants and the amountsof combined coagulants with flocculants influence on the settling performance of the slurry water and waterproperty have been studied by experiments. The paper also analyzed the function mechanism of coagulant onthe settling performance of the slurry water. The results indicated that coagulant could not meet the settlingpurpose of the slurry water, the dosage of polyacrylamide, whose molecular weight is 10 million, is 5.6g/m3and gypsum is 400 g/m3, after treating the coal dressing wastewater, the light transmission of the supernatantliquid was nearly 90.6% and initial settling velocity is 108.0cm/min, the water hardness is low when alumand aluminum-iron compound were used as coagulants, the mineral salt concentration and magnesium ionconcentration are large when calcium chloride and gypsum are used as coagulants, the adsorption form ofcalcium ion, aluminum ion (Al3+) and iron ion (Fe3+) on fine particles is ion electrostatic adsorption, when pHvalue is about 6.3, in addition, complexion adsorption of aluminum ion (Al3+) and iron ion (Fe3+) on fineparticles may exist.
