Abstract: From 2002 to 2006, the ecological footprint method was used to quantitatively analyze the status ofsustainable development of Wuhu City. The results are as follows: the per capita ecological footprint continuesto rise from 1.2734 hm2 to 2.14921hm2 during 2002 to 2006, increased by about 1 time. But the per capitaecological carrying capacity gradually decreased from 0.3094hm2 to 0.27678hm2. The ecological footprintexceeds the ecological carrying capacity which suggests Wuhu have a ecological deficit and is a unsustainabledevelopment status during 2002 to 2006.
