Abstract: The biosorption capability of heavy metals in mine wastewater by Staphylococcus auricularis wasdiscussed in this paper. The experimental results show that Cu, Zn can be efficiently accumulated byS.auricularis. The removal ratios of 100mg/L Cu and 50mg/L Zn are 77.1%, 56.3% respectively, the total biosorptionquantity of heavy metals by every gram of dry bacteria is 40.2mg/g, when the strain dosage is 15g/L.Furthermore, the biosorption efficiency is well even in acid conditions, the removal ratios of 100mg/L Cu and50mg/L Zn are exceeding 70.0%, 49.0%, when pH, S.auricularis concentration are 2.5~4, 15g/L respectively,so this kind of bacteria can be applied to mine wastewater which is usually acid. The biosorption efficiency isstrongly influenced by the concentration of Cu and Zn, treatment time, strain dosage.
