Abstract: In this paper, 12 ash samples including bottom ash, economizer fly ash and hot ESP fly ash are collected, contents of Pb, Cd and Ni are tested, and all the samples are leached. This research reveals that: the contents of Pb, Cd and Ni among different ash samples vary drastically, and fly ash samples are always with the highest content. Based on the leaching experiment, the Pb, Cd and Ni contents in leachates are far below the concentration specified in 40CRF 261.24 and in 40CRF 268.41, so no obtained evidence reveals that the ash samples are hazardous.
