Abstract: Combiner is important for solid-state power combining. The key parameters of power combiner are insertion loss, port matches and isolation over the design band. In this paper, a 3dB multiple branch waveguide coupler and an E-plane magic Tee are designed and optimized with HFSS tool to obtain good performance over operating band of 29 to 31GHz solid-state power combining application. Results show that the 3dB multiple branch waveguide coupler has insertion loss<0.3dB and isolation>18dB over the design band. The E-plane magic Tee has insertion loss<0.06 and isolation>12dB over the design band. These two combiners are fabricated and tested. The measured data show very good agreement with the simulated ones, and are presented in this paper.
