Abstract: An inductorless ultra-wideband (UWB) low-noise amplifier (LNA) employing a noise-canceling technique is presented in this paper. Operating at UWB range of 0.8–10.6 GHz and fabricated in TSMC 0.18-um technology, the measured results show maximum gain of 18.15 dB, minimum noise figure (NF) of 3.3 dB, input third-order intercept point (IIP3) of -17 dBm, and power dissipation of 31.1 mW at 1.8 V power supply. The reverse isolation (S12) and input return loss of LNA are less than -30 dB and -10 dB, respectively over the whole band of 0.8–10.6 GHz. The chip area is only 0.037 mm2 and including pads it is 0.294 mm2.
