Abstract: Aiming at the problem of the existence of different communication mode in hybrid multi-hop and cellular network, a new adaptive communication mode routing(ACMR) protocol is proposed. This protocol uses zone-routing technique, and maintenances the zone-routing information based OLSR protocol. It can realize the smart choice of communication mode, agile switch and communicating with node outside by the additive control message. Besides, transfer and balance traffic are realized by registration agent mechanism. The simulation shows the protocol can decrease the influence made by the density and mobility of node. It can improve the data packet delivery rate and average delay with small cost of routing overhead. This protocol increases the system performance and is applicability.
