Abstract: Markov model of idle spectrum sensing is presented based on analysis of spectrum sensing in Cognitive Radio(CR) and OFDM in WLAN. In regard to sensing idle spectrum of OFDM subcarriers, energy detector is proposed to be used in high-speed WLAN system. Moreover, performance analysis of energy detector is discussed in detail. At the same time, channel capacity is given. Mask exchange is based on the result of spectrum sensing, and a method is proposed to exchange the spectrum mask information. At last the flow chart of the method is given.
