Abstract: An UWB cognitive radio system using PSWF (Prolate Spheroidal Wave Function)-based orthogonal pulse waveform and Bridge function sequence matrix is proposed. Every information bit is transmitted over parallel Bridge function sequence matrix of PSWF-based orthogonal chip pulses. Each row vector of Bridge function sequence matrix has zero correction zones in its auto-correlation function, which will mitigate Inter-pulse-interference in the multipath fading environment. The model using SIMULINK/MATLAB is present in detail. The system is compared with that using Walsh sequence matrix and its zero-padding matrix and the result shows the proposed system has better performance in term of bit error rate.
