Abstract: Co-allocation can satisfy jobs' requirements by dividing job into sub-jobs and then these sub-jobs will be assigned to multiple resources simultaneously. This paper introduced several existing typical architectures that support co-allocation, analysed the key feathers and functions of the essential components in these architectures, presented the newest development in co-allocation--algorithms, fault tolerance and communication overhead and discussed the directions of future research and development.
