在过去的三届会议中,大家热烈研讨中国管理的重要意义、时机、研究视角和方法,探 讨构建中国管理模式、中国管理学派和理论的可能性,挖掘能体现中国管理特色的中国情境、中国管理问题、中国管理要素和特征,等等。随着研讨的深入,本届会议大家已经不能满足于这些研讨和争论,一致认为需要进一步集中和深化研究问题,以期更大的理论突破。例如,如何从丰富多彩的中国管理实践中归纳总结出成功的模式或发展成理论,从中国企业或组织面临的管理挑战和困惑中抽象出中国情境下特有的管理问题,从中国社会、文化、情境中发现中国管理的特征、要素,从某个视角如领导、或一些深度的案例透视中国管理的特色或模式,从独特的中国管理活动中发现中国历史、社会、文化、行为对管理的实质影响等等。总之,大家摩拳擦掌,准备开展更有特色和更为深刻的研究,也热切希望下次会议有更多更精彩的研究出现。我曾经提出,在管理领域,要成为大家,学者要做有实践的理论,实践家要做有理论的实践。为了产生更多有实践的理论,使此系列会议更加深入和健康地举办,我在会议总结中对下次会议也提出了“五轻五重”的建议:轻简单概念辨析,重归纳、总结和探索;轻简单文献回顾和思辨,重文献、理论比较以及新问题、新思路和新研究视角的发现;轻中国文化和古代经典的简单阐释,重文化于管理影响的深度挖掘以及利用经典的重建、创新和新发现;轻自娱自乐式研究,重理论与实践的对话以及学者与实践家、学者间的对话;轻会议的排场和奢华,重学术交流平台的建设和实质性学术进步与发现、以及促进关心中国管理的各届人士的互动和提升。
