改革开放三十年,中国取得举世瞩目的成就,不仅令世界惊奇,更令世人关注;同时随
着经济的强盛,中国发展模式、甚至中国的管理模式也吸引了学者们的眼球。尽管对是否存
在中国发展模式仍有争论,但带有中国特色的管理已成为管理研究重点之一却是一个不争的
事实。
在这类研究中,一些人试图研究和建立中国管理学派,有些学者希望构建中国管理理论,
不少人在探讨中国管理模式,等等。可以说,关于中国管理的研究热潮已见端倪。当然,也
有学者认为,学派不是创建的,而是随着研究发展获得同行认同的;不少人认为,只有中国
真正成为强国,才可能出现中国学派或中国管理模式;还有研究者认为,作为理论,具有普
适性,没有专门的中国管理理论,等等。为了广开思路,吸引更多有识之士和研究者加入有
关中国的管理研究行列,一批学者在三年前提议和试图搭建一个研究与交流平台,以共享研
究心得,强化学术批评,促进研究不断深化,为提升中国管理研究和实践水平做出贡献。正
如研究观点上的分歧一样,关于交流平台的名字也存在争议,如一开始也有中国管理学派、
中国管理学、中国管理理论、中国管理模式等名称之争,但后来我们达成共识,起名为“管
理学在中国”,旨在从学术角度归纳、总结、探索中国土地上的管理实践,研究中国管理面临
的问题,以形成相关的学说和理论,丰富人类管理知识宝库,提升中国管理理论研究和实践。
第一届“管理学在中国”学术研讨会由西安交通大学管理学院、西安交通大学中国管理
问题研究中心、华中科技大学管理学院、教育部科技委管理学部发起,于2008 年在西安交通
大学成功举行。会议坚持学术自由、鼓励研讨和学术批评,为每位与会学者提供发表观点的
均等机会。焕然一新的会议形式、清纯的学术精神立即引起关注和更多学者的加盟,使第二
届由华中科技大学管理学院承办的会议再获成功,会议虽然在普通的大学教室举行,但整个
会议激烈的学术辩论和研讨始终吸引着众多学者的兴趣,不少找不到座位的学者始终在门口
和有空档的地方站着参与讨论。第三届会议由兰州大学管理学院承办,参会学者激情空前,
除正常会议以外,还增加了会前博士论坛,学者们对博士论文的坦诚、深入的点评和提问使
博士生们感受到了前所未有的重视和启发。与历届会议一样,无论年过八旬的院士、年富力
强的中年学者,还是富有闯劲的年轻后生,都被清新高效的会议所吸引,认真深度的点评、

泼辣尖锐的提问、深邃激烈的交锋、富有启示的建议、循循善诱的讨论使所有与会者收获颇
丰,也使大家对未来的会议产生了更高的期待!
在过去的三届会议中,大家热烈研讨中国管理的重要意义、时机、研究视角和方法,探
讨构建中国管理模式、中国管理学派和理论的可能性,挖掘能体现中国管理特色的中国情境、
中国管理问题、中国管理要素和特征,等等。随着研讨的深入,本届会议大家已经不能满足
于这些研讨和争论,一致认为需要进一步集中和深化研究问题,以期更大的理论突破。例如,
如何从丰富多彩的中国管理实践中归纳总结出成功的模式或发展成理论,从中国企业或组织
面临的管理挑战和困惑中抽象出中国情境下特有的管理问题,从中国社会、文化、情境中发
现中国管理的特征、要素,从某个视角如领导、或一些深度的案例透视中国管理的特色或模
式,从独特的中国管理活动中发现中国历史、社会、文化、行为对管理的实质影响等等。总
之,大家摩拳擦掌,准备开展更有特色和更为深刻的研究,也热切希望下次会议有更多更精
彩的研究出现。我曾经提出,在管理领域,要成为大家,学者要做有实践的理论,实践家要
做有理论的实践。为了产生更多有实践的理论,使此系列会议更加深入和健康地举办,我在
会议总结中对下次会议也提出了“五轻五重”的建议:轻简单概念辨析,重归纳、总结和探
索;轻简单文献回顾和思辨,重文献、理论比较以及新问题、新思路和新研究视角的发现;
轻中国文化和古代经典的简单阐释,重文化于管理影响的深度挖掘以及利用经典的重建、创
新和新发现;轻自娱自乐式研究,重理论与实践的对话以及学者与实践家、学者间的对话;
轻会议的排场和奢华,重学术交流平台的建设和实质性学术进步与发现、以及促进关心中国
管理的各届人士的互动和提升。
此文集收录了一小部分会议论文,体现了少数与会作者的观点和研究成果,以供分享和
交流,当然文责自负。
