Special Issue on Bacteria, Viruses and Food Safety


Bacteria and viruses are common microorganisms that inhibit, create, or contaminate food, causing food spoilage, pathogens that may cause diseases.


In this special issue, we intend to invite front-line researchers and authors to submit original research and review articles on Bacteria, Viruses and Food Safety. Potential topics include, but are not limited to:

  • Foodborne germs and illnesses
  • Molecular methods in food safety microbiology
  • Microbial fermentation technology
  • Microbiological testing & analysis of food products
  • Food processing and microbial biotechnology
  • Microorganisms in food industry
  • Probiotic foods, nutrition and health
  • Microbiology and food quality control
  • E. coli and salmonella and food poisoning
  • COVID-19 and food Safety

Authors should read over the journal’s For Authors carefully before submission. Prospective authors should submit an electronic copy of their complete manuscript through the journal’s Paper Submission System.


Please kindly notice that the “Special Issue” under your manuscript title is supposed to be specified and the research field “Special Issue – Bacteria, Viruses and Food Safety” should be chosen during your submission.
