Special Issue on Biomedical Engineering and Medical Devices
Biomedical Engineering is the application of engineering principles and design concepts to
medicine and biology for healthcare purposes (e.g. diagnostic or therapeutic).
This field seeks to close the gap between engineering and medicine, combining
the design and problem solving skills of engineering with medical biological
sciences to advance health care treatment, including diagnosis, monitoring, and
therapy.
A medical device is any
apparatus, appliance, software, material, or other article—whether used alone
or in combination, including the software intended by its manufacturer to be
used specifically for diagnostic and/or therapeutic purposes and necessary for
its proper application.
In this special issue, we intend to invite front-line
researchers and authors to submit original research and review articles on Biomedical Engineering and Medical Devices. Potential topics include, but are not limited
to:
-
Medical imaging
-
Fluoroscopy and magnetic resonance imaging
-
Tissue engineering and biomaterial
-
Implants and prosthesis
-
Biomedical and material technology
-
Biomedical polymers
-
Pacemaker therapy
-
Microscope technology and biomedical applications
-
Drug-eluting stents
-
Rehabilitation engineering and devices
-
Defibrillators
-
Intraocular lens
-
Surgical instruments
Authors should read over the journal’s For Authors carefully before submission. Prospective
authors should submit an electronic copy of their complete manuscript through
the journal’s Paper Submission System.
Please kindly notice that the “Special Issue”
under your manuscript title is supposed to be specified and the research field
“Special Issue – Biomedical Engineering and Medical
Devices” should be chosen during your submission.
