Special Issue on Microfluidics

Microfluidics is a multidisciplinary field intersecting engineering, physics, chemistry, biochemistry, nanotechnology, and biotechnology, with practical applications to the design of systems in which low volumes of fluids are processed to achieve multiplexing, automation, and high-throughput screening. Microfluidics emerged in the beginning of the 1980s and is used in the development of inkjet printheads, DNA chips, lab-on-a-chip technology, micro-propulsion, and micro-thermal technologies. It deals with the behavior, precise control and manipulation of fluids that are geometrically constrained to a small, typically sub-millimeter, and scale.

In this special issue, we intend to invite front-line researchers and authors to submit original researches and review articles on exploring microfluidics. Potential topics include, but are not limited to:

• Single cell / organism studies
• Droplet microfluidics
• Novel microfluidic modules & applications
• Point-of-care diagnostics
• (Bio-)Chemical analysis/synthesis/separation

Authors should read over the journal’s Authors’ Guidelines carefully before submission. Prospective authors should submit an electronic copy of their complete manuscript through the journal at Paper Submission System.

Please kindly specify the “Special Issue” under your manuscript title. The research field “Special Issue – Microfluidics” should be selected during your submission.
