Special Issue on Health Psychology and Health Promotion
Health Psychology and Health Promotion is an interdisciplinary field that
examines how biological, psychological, and social factors influence health
behaviors, outcomes, and overall well-being. It focuses on the development and
implementation of strategies to enhance individuals' health and prevent illness
through behavior change and lifestyle adjustments. This field employs
psychological theories and research methods to understand how to motivate
healthy behaviors, manage chronic diseases, and improve patient compliance with
medical advice. Health psychologists work in various settings, including
hospitals, public health organizations, and academic institutions, striving to
promote healthful living and prevent health problems before they start.
