Special Issue on Gender Dysphoria

This special issue mainly focuses on the discussion of gender dysphoria which is a conflict between a person's physical gender and the gender he or she identifies as. People diagnosed with gender dysphoria today exhibit strong and persistent cross-gender identification. In adolescents and adults, the disturbance is manifested by symptoms such as a stated desire to be the other sex, frequent passing as the other sex, desire to live or be treated as the other sex, or the conviction that he or she has the typical feelings and reactions of the other sex. The disturbance causes clinically significant distress or impairment in social, occupational, or other important areas of functioning. The goal of this special issue is to provide a platform for professors and physician all over the world to promote, share, and discuss various new issues and treatments in the area of gender dysphoria.
