Special Issue on Glycobiology and Medicine

Saccharides is one of the three kinds of biological macromolecules that form life. Glycobiology, also called glycomics, is an emerging science in the structure, biosynthesis and biological function of saccharides, covering the knowledge system that includes biochemistry and molecular biology etc. After years of painstaking research, it has been found that the sugar chain as an information molecule plays an important role in maintaining a steady state about fertilization, development, differentiation, nervous system, immune system. However, due to the complexity of sugar molecules, we are only at the initial stage of revealing the mystery of saccharides.

In this special issue, we intend to invite front-line researchers and authors to submit original researches and review articles on exploring glycobiology and medicine. Potential topics include, but are not limited to:

    • Structure and function of saccharides and their derivatives
    • Glycosylation and glycoprotein
    • Glycochemistry and biotechnology
    • Saccharides bioengineering
    • Glycobiology and immunology
    • Saccharides and disease diagnosis
    • Polysaccharides and medicine
    • Clinical application of saccharides
    • Application in anti-inflammatory and antitumor drugs research

Authors should read over the journal’s For Authors carefully before submission. Prospective authors should submit an electronic copy of their complete manuscript through the journal’s Paper Submission System.

Please kindly notice that the “Special Issue” under your manuscript title is supposed to be specified and the research field “Special Issue – Glycobiology and Medicine” should be chosen during your submission.

    According to the following timetable:

    Submission Deadline

    December 30th, 2019
